'City I'
'Leviathan' and 'The dreaming long-lost cousin of Calculus.' were both alternate designs for my business card. In the end I just use the image repeated in the 'Leviathan' model. They are both incredibly basic models.
* Although I realise that there are sophisticated 3d software packages out there, Googlesketchup's cheap and primitive look appeals to me. Soon I hope to move into Blender and other programs, but only if it can give me the same level of kitsch.
Deconstructed cube
Starting with a simple cube, I ripped apart the geometry. By distorting every edge, inverting corners, pulling and pushing the faces in different directions I achieved this shape. It resembles a scrunched up ball of paper. On the left is the 3D model. I used GoogleSketchup 7. On the right is the final instance of the shape printed in the 3D. This is known as rapid processing. I was able to do this with the Bartlett School of Architecture.
From screenshots taken throughout the development, I put to together a short animation:
2008
Above is a design for a fictional, solo exhibition. Inspired by Manray's photographic still-life, I tried to reproduce the buckyball/hand object for use in the flyer.
Green Monolith
The green monolith was an artwok I made during the Slade. I originally showed the piece with a model ear coated in graphite. The cavity inside the monolith held a ticking clock. In Projects there is further documentation. I felt the sculpture of the green monolith would make an interesting 3D model.
